Each of our distributers carries a GPS data logger with them when they are distributing leaflets. This device uses satellites to record their position every second and stores all of this information on the device. When the distribution is complete, the information from each device is downloaded from the data logger onto a computer. Once loaded onto the computer our software generates a map showing the route that each individual distributer took.
Each time one of our distributors starts the day they turn on their GPS device & start to deliver. The tracker takes a reading of their location every few seconds & records this to within a few meters. When the day is complete we can view the finished round on a map. The GPS data is then emailed to our clients so that they can see the routes taken during the leaflet distribution process.
In addition to the above, each GPS data logger records the total distance walked, the total time spent walking, the total time spent posting the leaflets through letterboxes is the total time spent walking, graphs showing speed over time and altitude over time. All of this information is very useful in helping us to continually improve our service and will ensure that we are delivering the best possible service to our clients. It also adds an additional level of transparency in our reporting to clients, helping us to stand out from the ‘crowd’ in the professional leaflet distribution industry.
